Bring a Happy Halloween to a child in need.

By:Hege Crowton

So many children here in the United States have yet to experience the joy and thrills of Halloween. Even though the cost of celebratingthis holiday can be very small if you make costumes and decorations yourself, some families can not even afford that.

Have you ever seen the pain in parent’s eyes when they cannot even afford a sheet to turn their child into a ghost? No one should have to experience this pain yet alone the child involved.

For someone who has nothing, something is everything! The problem is there are so many families who have nothing and for one person it is impossible to help all of them.

How would you like to help a family be able to let their child enjoy Halloween night right along side other children without sticking out like a sore thumb? Wouldn’t it be great?

Go ahead! Do something about it instead of just thinking about it, you willfind great joy in doing so. Personally you might not know anyone who is in such need but believe me there are many of them out there. If you do not know
how to get such things to someone who need it, there are plenty of places you can take it to.

Churches always know of people in need and if there is a shelter in your area you will probably find children there who would be ecstatic with what you
might bring.

This does not have to cost you any money at all, just a little bit of time andeffort. You, like most of us, probably have an old sheet somewhere in yourcloset and a black marker can normally be found in every home.

Cut holes for eyes and mouth and use the marker to mark the eyes, nose and mouth. There you go; you just made a ghost costume. If you do have a small bucket laying around the house, why not decorate it and turn it into a Halloween
bucket for “trick or treating”?

You have no idea what a difference such a little thing can make so if you have the ability please try to bring some joy into another family’s Halloween this year.

Have a Happy Halloween.
