Turning Your Own Sounds into Tones!

Ringtones are a great way to personalize your phone, and with such a wide variety of tunes and tones available today, finding a sound you love shouldn’t be too difficult. But sometimes the choice available can be a little overwhelming, and with the ubiquity of chart hits, it can be hard to find your signature tune if your music preferences are a little more specialized. The world is an eclectic place, and many of us enjoy the sort of music that’s never going to make it to the top ten, and those of us with less than mainstream tastes can find it difficult to find the tone that’s best for us. So what’s a cell phone user to do? The answer is that you can create your own tone!
Today’s charts make only a small part of the whole music scene; there are a huge amount of great bands that will never make it to number one. Part of the fun of being human is that we are all so very different, and our taste in music is an exciting extension of that. Who hasn’t visited a friend’s house and taken a quick look at their music collection while there, only to be surprised and amazed not only by their range of musical preferences, but by the number of bands never heard of before? It would be a pretty boring world if we all listened to the same stuff, but for those of us with more out of the way musical taste, finding a musical ringtone of one of our favorite songs can be a nightmare!
But with a few technological tools it is now possible to create a ringtone of your very own, from any of your favorite tunes. With a copy of your chosen tune in MP3 or Wav format, you can use your computer to help you convert your music. Using programmes like Audacity or Lame that are available on the Internet for free, you can convert as much or as little of your chosen song into a ringtone that is made just for you.
Your chosen ringtone says so much about who you are, so it is no wonder that you want to find the perfect one for you. Thankfully, you don’t have to compromise with songs you sort of like any longer – choose your favorite music in all the world and create a ringtone that is exactly you.
