Real life Hannibal Lector, the "Vampire of Paris" makes his US debut as a pop culture artist

If you ever thought that redemption from sin was an impossibility, it might be time to meet Nico Claux. Beginning in 1994 , Nico began serving a 12 year sentence for a homicide in France. Nico, known in an underground world as the "Vampire of Paris" was suspected to be a true serial killer; one who has now served a full prison time for crimes he committed as a younger person. He was convicted of only one crime.
Now, 12 years removed from his criminal past, he is an accomplished artist renowned for his uncanny ability to capture the essence of personality on canvas. In conjunction with a U.S. company, he has released a work containing 50 some images of renowned killers in acrylic form. Always an interesting artist, Nico only does originals, he never runs a series of his work and often steps out of his own limelight.
The work has been produced into a 2007 Premiere edition Serial Killer Calendar in effort to offer the full portfolio in pragmatic form. The images are awesome, compelling without being concerning, and, at some level, tamed by the artist able to understand some of the motivations that lead these people to seek this type of iconic status.
Nico looks a lot like a rock star and frequents these types of social circles. Now and established artist in Paris, Nico, although truly a Warholish character from his center, is an established member of the art community. Nico now does commission work, maintains a quiet life with his girlfriend, and thoroughly enjoys a life dramatically different than what he knew as a younger person.

It offers a full representation of the actual calendar, bios of most of the notorious killers from the 21 st century and information about the artist himself, the company and the motivations for putting it all together.
In a circumstance where art has really imitated life, Nico offers a unique perspective into a difficult topic. There is no sensationalizing or glorifying, just an awesome presentation of some of the more notorious personalities that have ever existed.
