By:Sandra Stammberger

If you are a movie fanatic and want to have your own theater in your house, you do not need to worry anymore. There is now an alternative for that expensive home theater system and DVD’s—the new generation iPod.

What is iPod?

When you hear the word iPod, the first thing that will come into your mind is music. A portable gadget storung and playing audio files programmed by MP3 or AAC compression algorithms. It can hold from a hundred to ten thousand songs and you can play it anywhere you want to.

Both the large iPod and the mini iPod use a hard disk to store digital data. The Shuffle (the smallest among all the iPod produces) uses a type of memory known as flash.

It does not lose its contents when the power is turned off. The storage capacity of the three models of iPod starts to increase over the years until the new generation iPod comes out in the market.

New Generation iPod Mini-Theater System

After the success of the iPod in the MP3 industry, it will now start to invade the home theater industry. Aside from playing your favorite music, it can now play your favorite movie through its video capability.

All you have to do is plug it in a television set and you can now share videos and movies with your friends and relatives.

You can also transfer the movie or video files from a personal computer to another. You need not to bring any gadget because the new generation iPod can handle such thing.

How to Download Free Movie to your iPod?

To start your new home theater experience using your iPod, here are the step-to-step procedure on how to download a free movie to it:

• Log-on to the website, which offers free movie downloads. Be sure that that you have connected your iPod to your computer to facilitate downloading.

• Follow the directions in the website in downloading your free movie. Save it to your iPod.

• Make sure that the movie is in the MP4 or MPEG4 file format because your iPod uses its own video format. In case that it is not in MP4, you have to download a video converter. You can download it free from the Internet.

• After installing, convert the video file in MPEG4 format. Follow these steps:

- In your drop down file menu, click an open file, then go to the folder where your selected file is, and open it.
- Choose the MPEG4 or MP4 as the file format in the option menu.
- Since most of video files is homogenous (all its parts and segments contains the same format), convert it all.

• Proceed to the iTunes (it is a software that is working with the iPod to synchronize the songs available on the iPod to those available in the personal computer). Click it and add file to the library. Then select the folder where the converted movie is.

• Plug your iPod video to your personal computer.

• Open a window for your iPod and drag the file to transfer it to the window.

• You can now test the movie by watching it in your iPod. Then if the movie is perfect (no sudden stops in the middle of the scene), you can now watch it in your iPod anytime and anywhere.

Now you have your mini-theater, you can now connect it to your television set so that you can share that free movies with others. Enjoy your new generation iPod video.
