The bridal shower is the perfect time for close friends to spend time with the bride and share ideas and feel like part of the wedding planning ideas. Usually only the most closest and intimate guests and friends are invited. Nowadays, most often the bride is notified of the bridal shower as hectic scheduling usually makes surprise bridal shower ideas difficult to accommodate.
Since weddings are increasingly becoming more and more expensive, it is both commonplace to donate funds for the bride to use for wedding accessories – gift, wedding favors or other bridal shower ideas such as decorations. Another option is to buy exactly what the bride wants by encouraging each guest to pick an item specifically off the list.
Themed bridal showers are becoming very popular for brides as a precursor to weddings. Some popular and unique ideas for bridal showers might be:
Destination Shower – the bride and bridesmaids take a trip to a destination location for the bridal shower such as a cabin, hotel or bed and breakfast to spend time together and reminisce, while having fun. More unique shower ideas for the destination shower might include camping, yachting, and skiing.
Kitchen and Recipe Showers – Friends bring their recipes and utencils. A fun game to pay is for each guest to bring a unique recipe idea, and to put them in a hat as a draw and then make the food item.
Slumber Party Shower – Always a classic, your guests bring their pajamas, popcorn, and teddy bears and everyone relaxes around the T.V. for a night of nostalgic movies and cartoons, or simply talking about love.
Classic Games Shower – Simply write down a list of the board games you used to play as a kid, and get each guest to bring one. You’ll have a great time reminiscing over past memories!
Bridal Shower Favors are great ways to accent the shower theme. Some popular favor ideas for bridal showers are candies, votives or tea lights, flavored lip balm in decorative packages, soaps and bath and body gift baskets, makeup kits and disposable cameras.
Use your imagination and creativity to blend your favors in with your bridal shower ideas. If the theme is kitchen, perhaps you may offer assorted fruits in baskets wrapped in decorative boxes or mints and chocolates. For the slumber party, perhaps a personalized deck of cards for guest might do the trick.
